This little lantern measures 3 1/2" H x 4 1/2" in diameter at the widest part and is glazed with a Blue Rutile glaze with a dark Flux Glaze at the rim, causing it to drip, creating various colors as it flows down the lantern.
It is made with a slab of clay, rolled with a textured rolling pin, then formed into a cylinder, and cut with slits all the way around to allow light to show through. After cutting the slits, it is pushed down slightly to cause it to round out and open up the slits. After drying and glazing, it is fired to 2232 degrees. Vitrified and ready to use.

We use a white stoneware clay. When fired to a cone 6, the clay then becomes vitrified and is able to withstand extremes in temperature and is almost completely impermeable to water.
Dishware is microwave and dishwasher-safe.
All pottery labeled outdoor can withstand all-season weather.
The glazes and underglazes we
use are lead free and are non-toxic.

Dinnerware Care: As a general rule, avoid the sudden temperature changes (example, from the fridge to the oven). Stoneware should not be placed on direct heat. Place cold dish in a cold oven and then set temperature. Finally, this type of ceramic is non-stick and also microwave and dishwasher safe.
